Program Overview:

Horizons Youth Empowerment through Enriching Employment Program (YEEEP) is a comprehensive initiative designed to provide youth in foster care with the skills, guidance, and opportunities necessary to succeed in the job market. YEEEP focuses on empowering participants through interview preparation, dressing for success, resume writing, and job search strategies, fostering their personal and professional growth.

Program Objectives:

• Skill Development: Equip youth with essential job-seeking skills, including interview techniques, dressing appropriately, resume creation, and effective job search strategies.
• Personal Empowerment: Boost participants' self-confidence, self-esteem, and communication skills, enabling them to present themselves positively in various professional settings.
• Employment Readiness: Prepare youth for the challenges of the workforce by teaching them the practical skills required for a successful job search and employment experience.
• Long-term Success: Provide ongoing support and resources to help participants sustain their employment and continue their personal and professional development.

Program Components:

• Workshops and Training:
  • Interview Skills: Interactive sessions covering interview etiquette, body language, common interview questions, and mock interview practice.
  • Dress for Success: Workshops on appropriate attire for different work environments, grooming, and personal presentation.
  • Resume Writing: Step-by-step guidance on creating a compelling resume, highlighting skills, accomplishments, and experiences.
  • Job Search Strategies: Tips for effective job searching, online applications, networking, and using job search platforms.
• Mentorship:
  • Assign experienced mentors to each participant to provide personalized guidance, advice, and support throughout the program's duration.
  • Mentors will help participants set goals, track progress, and offer insights based on their own professional experiences.
• Job Shadowing and Internships:
  • Partner with local businesses and organizations to offer job shadowing opportunities, giving participants firsthand experience of various professions.
  • Secure internships with businesses aligned with participants' interests and skills, allowing them to gain practical work experience.
• Resume Building and Mock Interviews:
  • Provide one-on-one resume review sessions, helping participants tailor their resumes to specific job opportunities.
  • Conduct mock interviews with constructive feedback, allowing participants to practice and improve their interview skills.
• Guest Speaker Series:
  • Invite professionals as well as attend scheduled functions with people  from various fields to share their journeys, insights, and advice with participants.
  • These sessions will inspire participants and help them understand the diverse career paths available to them.
• Ongoing Support:
  • Create an alumni network for program graduates, offering continued support, networking opportunities, and access to resources.
  • Provide follow-up sessions to address challenges and celebrate successes.
